

Coffee lovers think that a hot mug of java fixes anything, but that might actually be true if you suffer from shoulder and neck pain. A study performed by researchers at the Norwegian National Institute of Occupational Health came to the conclusion that drinking coffee reduces workplace-related neck and shoulder pain. This makes sense since athletes have been utilizing caffeine’s pain-blunting effects for years. Consuming coffee or caffeine before workouts allows athletes to push more weight and perform more reps. This may be due to caffeine’s ability to reduce perceived pain—and why it’s often included in pain relievers.
