Arrived in Doha, Qatar

Well, almost exactly 20 hours after leaving our house in Austin we arrived at the Retaj Al Rayan Hotel in Doha, Qatar.  Diana and I flew to Washington D.C. where we met up with Sam Lewis,  Kelly Pettiford and Ken Taylor to board the long long flight to Qatar.  The 13 hours on the plane wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be.  I think we got a good 6 hours of sleep.  Each seat had individual monitors with a ton of selections of movies, TV shows, music and games, so it was easy to stay distracted during the flight.

It’s very warm and surprisingly humid here.  We are just blocks from the water.  The architecture here is absolutely amazing!  I can’t wait to see it all in the daylight tomorrow.

It’s time to try to go get some sleep.  We’ll be up early for cardio and a workout in the morning!  Stay tuned

Even though he reportedly slept for most of the flight Sam was dozing off on the couch in the lobby while we were waiting for our rooms.

Getting ready for the World Championships

/ Posted 10.14.2009

I’ve been training and dieting hard to be ready for the IFBB World Championships in Qatar the first week of November.  We got our itineraries last night and I’m super-excited about the trip and the chance to represent the USA!

Diana and I traveled to Raliegh, NC the first weekend of October to do a photo shoot with Lisa Brewer.  It was really Diana’s shoot.  I just kinda tagged along and took a few shots when I could.  They came out super good and we just got to see them for the first time last night.
