Singular leg workout


image017.jpgI had to do a singular leg workout solo today.  When you only have one leg to stand on, it sure is uncomfortable after a leg workout.  However, I don’t leave nearly as exhausted as I do when I’m able to go all out on heavy squats and leg presses.  I sure miss that!!!  But, I’m doing what I can to stay lean and keep some muscle on my good leg.  I ran into to Mr. Ripped, Charles Fuller at the seated leg curl machine and had a nice visit with him while I worked in.  He’s still smiling from his overall victory at the NPC Capital of Texas.  I would be too!

Leg Press 5 sets 20 reps

Seated Leg Curls 4 sets 10-12 reps

Leg Extensions 5 sets 12-15 reps

After my workout I had a protein smoothie and then went for my first visit since the surgery with my orthopaedic surgeon, Dr. Thomas Burns.  Dr. Burns is great!  He seems genuinely excited about the work that he did on me.  He reattached a bicep tendon for me 10 yrs ago and that worked out really well.  He said he felt really good about how the surgery went and that it appeared to be healing very well.  Although I’m going to have to spend about 4 more weeks on crutches, he wants me to start stretching it to where I can get my leg completely straightened out again.  I was glad to hear that I can start doing something to make progress!
