There has been a flood of evidence that drinking a couple—that’s two—glasses of red wine a day is good for a man’s heart health.
Most have attributed that to resveratrol, an antioxidant, but to get the effects produced in the studies, you’d have to drink 16 bottles of red wine a day.
According to the February ’12 Prevention, John Folts, Ph.D., professor emeritus of cardiovascular medicine and nutrition at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, says it’s the polyphenol compounds in wine that keep blood vessels flexible and your blood clot free.
