Team Universe 1—Fit Nat’s Blast Six New Divas into the Pro Zone

The NPC’s 2011 program of huge national shows marched on last weekend with the Team Universe, which was held in Teaneck, New Jersey, and attracted more than 400 athletes. With some 44 pro cards for men and women in seven divisions up for grabs, you might call it the biggest pro-nanza of the season.

One of the highlights of the weekend is always the Fitness Nationals, where the top two in each height class move up to the next level. Twenty-five ladies brought their kicks and splits to the Teaneck Marriott at Glenpointe. The overall went to C-class winner Sheri Vicuck, a trainer, former gymnast and mother of three from Pittsburgh who made some noise in another organization a few years back. Vicuck, who recently moved to Washington State, returned to competition in 2011, taking the NPC Vancouver Championships and the prestigious Emerald Cup on her way to the National Championship.

Sheri beat out A-class winner Amy Peterson and B-class champ Tiffany Robinson for the overall, They’ll be joined on the pro level of competition by class runners-up Anna Moyano, Linda McKown and Whitney Jones.
