According to the January/February ’12 Well Being Journal, glucose and vitamin C “use the same cell door.”
That means if your blood sugar is high, vitamin C may lose out on cell entry. It also means that the 50 to 100 milligrams of vitamin C that is the RDA is probably far too little if you’re eating carbs at all.
“One gram a day is probably a minimum for optimal health, more if we become [ill].”
