Flat-Bread Crunchy Crisps

flat bread crisps

If it’s one thing I crave and miss a lot when I’m eating cleanly to maintain a lean physique, it’s munching on crunchy carbs. They say that great things are created out of necessity. Well, I couldn’t agree more. That’s how the flat-bread crisps were born!

What you need: rice wraps (in the specialty bread section of the supermarket), olive oil, dry Parmesan, red pepper flakes and pepper.

Preheat a sauté pan on medium heat.

Take one rice wrap and spread 1/2 tablespoon of olive oil on it, covering both sides, with a brush or your finger tips.

Heat the wrap in the pan for a few minutes, and then sprinkle dry Parmesan on the side facing up. Dust it with pepper flakes and black pepper.

Cook for five to seven minutes, and then flip it over. Dust the other side with Parmesan, and cook for another five to seven minutes or until it’s crispy.

Remove the crisp from the pan, and let it cool. Then savor the delectable taste and crunch of this low-calorie, low-carb, good-fats, flat-bread snack!

Makes one serving, containing: calories, 150; carb, 15 grams;  fat, 9 grams (7 grams from olive oil); protein, 3 grams

Enjoy the crave-satisfying crunch without all the calories.
