Get Well, Mike

img_0194Speedy recovery wishes go out to Mike Lackner, the former Collegiate Nationals champion turned writer/photographer/emcee, who underwent surgery for testicular cancer last Wednesday.

I talked with Mike on Saturday and he was in good spirits, funny as always.. “Along with the removal of the cancer, a hernia was repaired that I didn’t know I had,” said Lackner from his Altoona, Pennsylvania home. “The Doctors are confident that I will have a speedy and successful recovery. All treatment has been done at the Altoona Regional Hospital….any hot nurses who like to give sponge baths can contact me through the magazine!.”

Lackner, 39, started chemotherapy treatments this morning. Testicular cancer is the most common malignancy for men between the ages of 18-40. If caught in the early stages, which it was in this case, complete recovery is likely.

Hang in there, Lackdaddy…gotta go check to see if any nurses are interested in your offer.
