TheFitExpo Los Angeles celebrates its 10th Anniversary with new Competitions and Attractions


(Los Angeles, CA) – The Bodybuilding.com Los Angeles Fitness Expo, presented by Subway Restaurants, returns Saturday and Sunday, January 19-20, 2013 to the Los Angeles Convention Center.

California’s largest fitness weekend celebrates its 10th Anniversary with an expanded exhibit floor featuring over 300 of the most cutting edge companies who will be on hand to display fitness, health and well-being products and services, with many offering discounts and complimentary samples.

Erin Ferries, Executive Director of The Expo stated, “Over the past ten years TheFitExpo Los Angeles has continually showed year to year growth in exhibitors, attendees and free competitions for our audience. In 2013 we are proud to add the inaugural Adult CrossFit Challenge, TheFitExpo Jump Rope Competition hosted by Palpitating Panthers, SoCal’s Best 4 Ca$h! offering prize money to the most in shape visitors to The Expo, and Arm Wrestling.”

Along with these new attractions, several fan-favorites are set to return including The Gracie US Nationals & Kids World Championships, MET-Rx presents Odd Haugen’s Strength Challenge, The Iron Man Naturally, CrossFit Kids, The USPA American Cup Powerlifting Championships, The LA Fitness Expo Benchpress and Deadlift Championship, and The American Record Makers Olympic Weightlifting Competition. The Healthy Eating and Living Pavilion, housed on the Expo floor, returns with exhibits and demonstrations focusing on improving the health and well-being of attendees through better diet, cooking and life extension.

The MAX REPS 4 CASH Competition offers $2000 to attendees who can power through the most reps on several popular exercises in a finite amount of time. Bodybuilding.com’s BodySpace Spokesmodel Search returns, which will allow one lucky man and woman to grace the cover of Iron Man Magazine and represent Bodybuilding.com and the BodySpace community.

TheFitExpo Los Angeles offers a huge and growing MMA presence with Sherdog and MMA Worldwide presenting top athletes, pro-training sessions, ring girl contests, live remotes and many vendors with the latest gear.

One of the highlights of the weekend is the opportunity for attendees to meet and learn from the top fitness celebrities in the world. In 2012 over 100 fitness celebrities were in attendance adding excitement to the bustling exhibit floor. Ferries said “In 2013 we are happy to welcome back top MMA star Bas Rutten, MMA referee Herb Dean, and 4 time Mr. Olympia Jay Cutler, with scores more to come.” Additionally a roster of complimentary seminars and demonstrations are scheduled for those that want to add to their fitness, healthy cooking, and well-being knowledge.

The popular Evolution Fitness Conference returns for its second visit to TheFitExpo Los Angeles. A full line-up of innovative group exercise classes are scheduled for those who want to participate.
