Jessica James

Compiled by Savannah Neveux • Photography by Michael Neveux

Jessica James grew up in cheerleading. Her mom operated a cheer gym, and Jessica was involved in teaching and competing for most of her formative years. When she got to college, she missed the competition and exercise. She desperately needed an outlet—and something to reshape her body—so she started lifting weights. She loved it, and eventually became a certified personal trainer.

In 2011 Jessica saw her first bodybuilding and bikini contest and was sold immediately. She hired a trainer, and after a few outings got her pro card in bikini at the ’13 IFBB North American Championships, which took place In Pittsburgh over Labor Day weekend.

Oh, and because of her name, which is similar to that of a famous outlaw of the Old West, she has the word Outlaw tattooed on her championship physique. Read on to find out where.
