Ride the Tide

Don?t swim against social pressure; change your environment.

If all your buddies at the gym are loading up on steroids, but you’d like to go clean, for example, you’ll make life a lot easier for yourself if you make some new friends, people who are clean.

If you want to train heavy, but everyone in your gym works out with 25-pound dumbbells, find a new training environment.

If you aspire to be Ms. Olympia and your gym mates think a woman’s place is in the aerobics room, change gyms. The examples are endless, but the bottom line is to avoid swimming against the social tide, whenever possible, by consciously picking when and where you swim.
