Dionne Warwick sang it, and I hope the pilot of the flight I’m taking on Southwest knows it, ’cause that’s where I’m headin’ on Saturday morning. It’s been about 15 years since I’ve emceed Paul (Brother) Love’s San Jose Championships, so it will be good getting back up there again.
There’s always a long list of premier physiques in the show and am sure this time around will be no exception. Plus, I get to see the Big Nasty on stage again-yup, eight-time Mr. Olympia Ronnie Coleman is the featured guest poser. Let’s see what I can find out about Coleman’s alleged return to the Olympia stage in 2010. Fitness star Tanji Johnson will also delight the crown with her wonderful posing performance, I can guarantee it.
Then, it’s back to Culver City on July 18, where I will co-emcee the always-sublime Los Angeles Championships. If anybody notices me behind the podium, of course. See, I’ll be sharing the microphone with the hot Gina Allioti…now do you get my drift?
The Jon Lindsay production looks like its on its way to about a field of 130-140, if not more, as competitors from all over the country trek to So Cal in a final attempt at qualifying for the USA the following weekend in Las Vegas. Speaking of the USA, the Swami’s always-brilliant predictions are now up on video at www.ironmanmagazine.com, where Alex Azarian joins me in breaking down the sizzler in the sun.
Alex and I put it on the line a month ago to do this video, without seeing photos or video of any of the contenders. So, let me hear from all the Swami-wannabe selections ASAP.
Over, under and out.
