Saw the sad news via an article published in the Hawaii-based Star-Bulletin newspaper yesterday; one of the state’s most prominent physique stars, and the owner of Timmy’s Health Club, died of natural causes on May 16 at the Queen’s Medical Center. Timmy was 83 years old.
Leong, who lived in Kaimuki, represented Hawaii in the Mr. America and Mr. USA contests held on the mainland in the 1950s. He ran his health club for more than 40 years, where it became an informal headquarters for visiting wrestlers and local and international bodybuilders…including a kid who migrated to the U.S. from Austria, Arnold Schwarzenegger.
