Former Mr. America Tuefel Dies at 45
Ron Tuefel, one of the top bodybuilder's of the 1970s and 1980s, died in Essington, Pennsylvania, on December 22 at the age of 45. No cause of death has been noted in various reports.

Tuefel, known for his chiseled mid-section and overall conditioning, won both the Teen Mr. America and the Short Class at the Teen Mr. USA in 1975 before taking his class at the Mr. America two years later. In 1978 Tuefel was the Mr. USA Overall champion.

As a professional Tuefel, who was on the cover of Ironman in November, 1977 and May, 1979, finished second in his class at the 1980 IFBB Mr. International, fifth at the 1981 IFBB Washington Grand Prix and seventh at the Night of Champions in 1982.
