Wheat Whack

Limit your wheat intake for better health.

According to the August ’10 Bottom Line Health, about 1 percent of Americans have celiac disease. My mother-in-law has it, and it’s not pretty. Any intake of gluten, a protein found in wheat, barley and rye, causes immediate diarrhea. Many people have a less severe wheat intolerance that often leads to fatigue, headaches, indigestion and even joint pain. Why? Wheat is a hybrid grain “manufactured” by man, so it contains newer proteins believed to trigger inflammation. Not good, considering inflammation is linked to many diseases, including cancer. Limit your wheat intake for better health.
