We’ve all had the unavoidable stomach bug that puts you down and out with fun symptoms like the dry heaves. Doctors usually prescribe fluids—if you can keep them down—and waiting it out. Something that may help keep things down and relieve some of the awful symptoms is honey. A recent study highlighted in the February ’11 Prevention found that children who got a teaspoon of honey in their drinks had 40 percent less diarrhea and vomiting. They also recovered a full day faster. A spoonful of honey will no doubt help ailing adults as well.
