Sugar Shock


You already know that eating too much simple sugar can make you fat, but did you know it can also increase risk of depression?

According to the August ’11 Bottom Line Health, high-glycemic foods like white bread, pasta and sugary desserts sharply raise blood sugar, which makes you feel better briefly due to a release of serotonin in the brain, but it is followed by a mood plunge due to low blood sugar and cortisol.
