It may sound ridiculous, but the more time you spend away from home, the tougher it is to make gains. Need proof? Look no further than ’07 NPC National Superheavyweight and Overall champion Evan Centopani. In the year since he won that title, he has packed on nearly 20 pounds of new lean muscle and brought his off-season weight to more than 310 pounds. His secret? Staying home. “I was able to quit my day job in real estate, which used to have me on the road for eight hours a day,” he reveals. “And I limited my traveling for appearances so I could be a lot more consistent with my workouts, meals and sleep.”

Staying home may or may not be an option for you. In either case, don’t overlook the power of consistency and the role it plays in your physique. Great workouts, great meals and great nights of sleep all add up over time. All else being equal, in bodybuilding it pays to be a homebody.  IM
