DeeAnn Donovan

Looking at DeeAnn Donovan, your first impression might be that she’s in her late 20s, drives a small, fast luxury car and certainly has no kids. You’d be dead wrong on all counts. Believe it or not, she’s in her late 30s, has three children—her oldest is 13—and, get this, drives a 7,000-pound pickup truck with a six-inch lift. Oh, and did I mention she’s a knockout? DeeAnn is living proof that a fit lifestyle, a go-for-it attitude and a little country living thrown in for good measure make an unbeatable antiaging combination. Okay, enough banter. Workout: “I alternate three days of strength training and three days of cardio. I have a cardio-core routine that I designed myself. I keep my heart rate up by hitting every bodypart. I do that three days a week and vary my workout by using many different types of training equipment, such as agility ladders, stretch bands, medicine balls, balance pillows and stability balls.”

Success Stories

Legends of Bodybuilding: Flex Wheeler
My interview with Flex in 2002 was never completed. Then, suddenly, his cell phone number no longer worked, and my follow-up e-mails were bounced back as "undeliverable." Uh-oh! I stored "Flex 2002" on my hard drive and sketched a mental note: maybe someday. Someday came three years later. In 2005 Flex launched a Web site, and I dropped him a line. A little updating here, some tweaking there, and we produced an account of an extraordinary journey of self. It's worth every bit of the wait.." [PDF]
