Much of the research on garlic shows that it’s beneficial in preventing cardiovascular disease, but the reason it does that can make it a good preworkout supplement. According to the November/December ’10 Well-Being Journal, it helps relax arteries. One study showed that garlic can reduce blood vessel tension by 72 percent. Try supplementing with capsules before your workouts; you don’t want to eat fresh garlic unless you really dislike your training partner.
