Colombia export Anllela Sagra lights up the fitness world with her contagious passion and a great set of abs.

By Dr. Cat Begovic

The phenomenon of the Internet fitness icon has now been a part of our culture for so long that we are onto the second generation of chiseled digital entrepreneurs. The head of the new class seems to be 22-year-old Anllela Sagra. The Colombian native just recently burst onto the fitness scene, but her combination of toned athletic muscles and feminine curves has captured the attention of fitness fans all over the globe. Could she be the next Michelle Lewin or Larissa Reis? We think so!

Dr. Cat Begovic: Tell us a little bit about yourself and your background. How did you get involved in fitness?

Anllela Sagra: I’m 22 years old. I’m Colombian. I got involved into fitness about four years ago when I did a little competition in Medellin, Colombia. It’s called El Clasico Paisa. I decided to get into it three days before the competition. I competed against 25 girls and I got third place. That got me very motivated. Also big brands began to contact me. They were interested in me as an athlete. That was the biggest motivation I got.

CB: Why do you think you have gained popularity so quickly?

AS: I don’t know. I really do everything with all my heart. I love fitness, and I’ve never felt like it’s a job. I love to help people and know that they get motivated when I share my path.

CB:  What are some of the most common questions you get from fans?

AS: “How do you pronounce your name?” [laughs]

CB:  Describe your typical day.

AS: Every day is different for me. But some things are always there. Things like, I work out twice a day, I’m on my phone a lot—that’s my work tool—and I take a lot of pictures every day.

CB: What does your training and diet look like?

AS: I usually eat four times a day. Every meal contains protein—egg whites or chicken—and veggies. I try to cycle carbs: first day zero carbs, second day low carbs, and third day high carbs. I don't have like a specific day to cheat. I think I cheat four times per month. I cheat when I crave it. I usually cheat with a burger, fries, cheesecake, and a lot of peanuts. I love sweets, so I eat protein bars to stop cravings.

CB:. What motivates you?

AS: I feel very blessed with everything. I think life gives you opportunities and you’re the one who decides to take them or not. When you are your own business, you decide how much you want to grow and in how much time you want to accomplish your goals. My passion for what I do is huge! I love what I do!

CB:  What are your goals when it comes to your career?

AS: My first and only goal in life is to be happy and do what I love. Fitness makes me feel the passion and motivates me to be better every day. I believe in effort and discipline, and every day I give 100 percent to grow as a person and help people.

CB:  What’s your favorite body part on yourself?

AS: I think my abs, because it takes a lot of discipline and dedication to see them.
