Bikini Wars? What Sonia Had to Say
The pro bikini circuit got off to a rousing start, firing off five big shows between March 20 and May 8 and producing two major challengers for the first Bikini Olympia crown—figure star-turned-bikini star Sonia Gonzales and new sensation Nathalia Melo. The IFBB’s Sandy (Ranalli) Williamson has said that Melo’s physique is exactly what the judges are looking for. Both gals have won two shows, but Melo beat Gonzales at the Pittsburgh Pro, after which Sandy gave that interview to Isaac Hinds.
What with a 2 1/2-month gap before the second half of the season, the idea has had a time to sink in. S0 is it all over but the model turns in the battle for the Bikini O, which is three months and six contests away?

Heather Mae Has Her Say
Here’s what Heather Mae French had to say after her repeat win at the California Pro Figure competition, which was held last week. I caught up with Heather, trophy in hand, and her daughter Autumn a few minutes after she was crowned Cal Pro champ. The good news for her competitors: She’ll be taking a break till the Olympia.
Following this conversation we discussed how one could get the trophy, a large sword, on a plane back to Colorado and whether it would be useful in the kitchen. Shish kabobs for all!
