Reigning national champ Jennifer Andrews got her first pro win at the St. Louis Pro Bikini on March 19. It was only the sixth contest ever—third pro show—for the former NFL cheerleader, who finished ninth at the Bikini International on March 5, cementing her rep as one of the hottest bikini bodies currently on the circuit. That said, the competition was close, with but a single point separating Jen from runner-up Jessica Jessie and another separating Double J from third-placer Jessica Putnam at this top-three Olympia qualifier.
I have to admit, when I saw the prejudging pics on Saturday afternoon, I thought that Jess P, who finally broke the top-six barrier at the International, where she was fourth, had it. As usual, I was wrong; however, the closeness of the scores suggests that at least one judge must have agreed with me.
The contest, a first-time effort from promoters Jack and Ann Titone, attracted 14 stride ’n’ snappers, including perennial fave Dina Al-Sabah, in fourth, and Angela Leong, getting some love from the panel in fifth.
Also of note: Jessica Clay, who has competed in fitness and figure as a pro and took 14th at the International, seems to be finding her footing in bikini. She was eighth here, but I have to think that the judges will be giving her some affection before too long.
Next week the bikini action moves to the West Coast and the Muscle Contest Bikini Championship in Culver City, California.
