Jaguar Jon is spinning those records again. As of Wednesday night, 167 competitors (not counting crossover athletes) have signed on to compete in the NPC Los Angeles Championships on Saturday at the Veterans Auditorium in Culver City.
The larger numbers, of course, are due to the added Bikini division this year; 30 were on board as this blog is being written.
Yogi Avidan predicts big Reginald Brantley will take top honors this weekend; I like the cat with the huge guns, too, and feel he can make Yogi look smart by the time I (or Gina Allioti) announce the Overall winner late Saturday night. I know Todd Jewell is in town, and I don’t think the 6-foot, 250-pounder came all the way down from Washington just to watch.
I don’t know who else is doing the show, but I do know there will be a slew of outstanding bodybuilding, figure and bikini competitors on stage. Check out the contest flyer on this site for more info.
